Hey,

NYC will drain your bank account if you let it. But there's a cheat code most students don't use: knowing exactly where to flash your student ID.

Here are 5 that are actually worth it this week.

1. NY Philharmonic Student Rush — $25

Lincoln Center for $25. Students can grab rush tickets up to 10 days in advance, online or in person at David Geffen Hall. First come first served so don't sleep on it.

2. Carnegie Hall Student Insider — $10 tickets

This one is insane. Carnegie Hall. Ten dollars. Sign up for Student Insider (its free) and unlock $10 tickets for select performances. Thats less than most lunch spots in the city.

3. The Met — Pay what you wish

People assume The Met is tourist-priced and never check. If your a student in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut, you can pay whatever you want at the door with a valid student ID. That means you can technically pay $0.

4. MoMA PS1 — Now free for everyone

Small update worth knowing: as of January 1, 2026, MoMA PS1 in Queens went completely free for all visitors, not just NYC residents. Its their 50th anniversary year and they're going all in. Just reserve your ticket online in advance.

5. NYC Ferry — $1.45 rides

More niche but useful. NYC high school students can ride the ferry for $1.45 through the Student Discount Program on weekdays during the school year. If you commute between boroughs this one pays for itself pretty fast.

Bookmark this email. These programs don't really advertise to students so most people pay full price their entire time in NYC without ever knowing any of this existed.

See you next week.
