Quick one this week. These are all live right now and genuinely underused. If you're a full time student in NYC, at least one of these should be saving you money.
1. Blue Note NYC — $20 evening tickets
Full time undergrad and grad students can get $20 evening show table seats and $15 weekend brunch tickets with a valid student ID. Buy at the box office, at the door, or in advance. Availability varies by show but this is one of the best kept secrets in the city.
2. NY Philharmonic — $25 student rush
$25 rush tickets for select concerts at David Geffen Hall, available up to 10 days in advance online or in person. One of those deals that sounds too good to be real but isn't.
3. The Met Opera — $35 student tickets
The Met's student program lets full time undergrad and grad students buy select performance tickets at $35 plus fees. You register once with your student ID, then access the discounted pricing online or at the box office anytime.
4. Signature Theatre — free student membership
Free to join. Includes $20 student tickets, $30 guest tickets, and access to Student Night bookings. Off Broadway theater in NYC for $20 is genuinely hard to beat.
5. Fair Fares NYC — 50% off subway and bus
Not student specific but worth knowing. Eligible NYC residents with low income can get 50% off subway and eligible bus fares through Fair Fares. For students who qualify, this is probably the most money it saves out of anything on this list, every single week.
That's it for this week. Forward this to a friend who needs it.
